As one of the oldest swim club in Texas, the Houston Swim Club is year round USA Swimming program that provides swimmers opportunity to pursue Excellence in competitive swimming.

Founded in 1957 by Phill Hansel (former head coach at Univ. of Houston and Olympic Coach), HSC evolved from the Shamrock Swim Club, which was based at the old Shamrock Hilton.

After a brief hiatus in the 80’s, Coach Gilbert Legaspi brought the team back in 1992 with eight swimmers. And after 18 years, the team currently has over 150 members ranging from the novice level swimmers to Olympic Trials Finalists.
